Update on Knee ~ Hi

This is what she used to look like.

Now she is just a skinny version of this picture and
she has also lost some of her white whiskers.

The vet told me not to be surprised if I woke
up one morning and she was
bald.

Just kidding!

Things on this end are not going good at all.
She is still nauseated and throws up.
She got her eating tube but tonight it is not
working. Tomorrow I am going to the vet's
office and I am not leaving until he shows me why
it will not work when it used to.
I had no trouble over the week-end.
Last night she threw up all night long.
It seems that the feeding tube is too long.
I took her back today and he checked her out
and shortened the tube so it was not
so far in her stomach.
I was encouraged but now I can't get any
food down her. If I try to force it the water
or food just squirts out the back of the tube.
I am afraid to force it cause then she tries to run.

Is God trying to tell me something and I am just
too pig headed to listen?

Or is he trying to tell me to be patient?
My gut tells me pig headed!

So back I go to the vet to get something done
for poor little Knee ~ Hi. She was supposed
to have her next treatment for the cancer
but since she has not been able to eat or drink
I guess we will have to skip it this week.

AGAIN!

Why is this happening?
Any comments from anyone that has been there?

I appreciate all your comments and thoughts and prayers.
Please keep them coming! You are all so dear to me
and I send God's love and blessings to you all.

Knee ~ Hi

Could Knee ~ Hi
have known what was in store
for her or did she just
have
a
Headache?

Today the vet put in a feeding tube.
All of her pretty hair was shaved
off around her neck.
She sports a white bandage that
keeps the tube in place.

Tonight I fed her for the first time.
Actually,
I used a feeding tube
for the very first time.
It works so
nicely and so far so good.

She did great, and has not even tried to throw up!

A HUGE YEA!!!

It will be so nice to go to sleep and know
she got fed today.
She even managed to pee.

Things are finally looking up.
The vet is
SURE that the tumor has shrunk that is in
her nose, too.

She did not have any chemo this week but come
Tuesday, if she is feeling OK. we will do that
again.
That will be two weeks of killing
that evil tumor.

Your prayers are still needed for my furbaby.
I do thank you so much
for all your kind thoughts and heartfelt prayers.

Your thoughts have gotten me through
this week ~ except for the 23rd. and
Nothing could have helped me that day!!!

Knee ~ Hi sends you lots of cat licks
and sweet kisses.

Take care all and God Bless you
and keep you safe from harm.

Happy stitching!!!

Update : Knee ~Hi the cat

I am sitting here with Knee ~ Hi
as she repeatedly has the dry heaves.
Except they are not dry, rather she
throws up foam.

To say her chemo is not going well is an

Understatement!!!

I have taken her back to the vet twice in two
days and tomorrow is Sunday. Every time she
smells food she starts to throw up.

He did a complete blood count (CBC)
on her today and the numbers all looked
good except potassium (She won't eat) and her liver
was a little high. But considering the assault
to her system it is not unusual.

They had to give her Sub Q fluids twice and
she does better but this is worrisome.
I have not gotten much sleep as it is
because it is like having a very young sick
child in the house... again.

I hear every noise she makes and if I am asleep it
wakes me up.
But I can't really help her.

So please say a prayer for her that she gets
through this faze and is finally cured.
It's not too much to ask for one small
cat is it?
I am almost beside myself now
and don't know if I have done the right
thing.
It is always so easy to second guess
yourself when things aren't going right.
Why does this stuff always happen
on the week-end late at night?
The vet said I could call so I will in the morning
maybe I can give her something.

Do cats drink Ginger Ale?

It could be a solution!!!

Thanks for looking You all mean the world to me
and I appreciate your comments.
Take care and God Bless ~

Prayers for Knee~Hi

Today I took Knee~Hi down to Copperas Cove to a Vet there
who operated on her beautiful ears.
Unfortunately, she has cancer.
Her other eye had
developed Horner's Syndrome this morning
and when the vet looked inside her ears one of
her ear drums was blown out and the other was
bulging from the inside.
Both were full of pus from the infection the tumor had caused.

He opened that ear drum, irrigated both ears and put
medicine inside her ears and sealed them with wax so the
medicine can heal the ear drums.
He also took samples and sent them off to A&M
to make sure it's cancer.
He is sure it is though.

No, she can not hear and she had not really
come back like we hoped so I need prayers for my sick cat.

We will start the chemo on Friday two shots once
every week for three weeks.
Then she gets two shots every
three weeks for three times.

She deserves to have some quality of life and the
Vet thinks this can happen cause cats respond to
treatment when they have lymphoma.
Not forever,
but sometimes for a couple of years.

Doesn't this sweet face deserve that?

So . . . your prayers will be much appreciated
and Knee~Hi sends you a lick.

Take care and God Bless ~

Cancer Square

I finished this second square for the Relay for Life Cancer Quilt.

I have to take it to Donna who organized the Cancer Quilt
and is anxious to get the finished piece.

I have had a sick cat, a root canal and I had to
put my Mom in a nursing home temporally cause she
hurt her knee.

Then Sunday I got sick and am running a fever went
to the Dr. today and it snowed.

The snow was great but I can't even build a
snowman cause I can't go outside.

Big Bummer!!!

It has not snowed for years and I have
to stay inside.

Thanks for looking.
God Bless ~

A Cat, Root Canal, Reindeer Games and a Pear Tree !!!

This is Knee-Hi the cat!

She is called this because she has
white hair that comes up to her knees.

Do cat's have knees?

Oh well, she has been sick with Horners'
Syndrome. At first we thought it was an upper
respiratory infection. So the Dr. treated
her for that. When her third eyelid
came up and covered one forth of her
eye I knew something was wrong.
I took her back to the Vet and he
confirmed it was Horners' Syndrome.
So . . . they have to put her under and
clean out her ears and inject medicine
into the ear cavity give her more medicine
and hope for the best.

Well, the best wasn't meant to be.

I had to take her back and her ear drum is
all healed, she had blown it out with the
pressure of the infection, so that is great.
But. . . she has to take another bottle of
liquid medicine about three weeks and we
will again hope for the best.
To date . . . I have already spent over $ 1000.00
and counting. Could you put a cat to sleep
cause she has an ear infection?

Sorry, but I can't!

MY cruel boss said I should just hit
her over the head
and be done with it.
Or, better yet
he will do it for me.

Compassion ~ NONE!!!

Could you do this to this sweet face?

But . . . sweet face or not this cat KNOWS when
I am ready to give her the medicine.
Don't think for one minute cats are not
Smart!
Mine is very smart.

I have tried everything I can think of
to trick her
and finally I just have to grab her by the scruff
of the neck and pull her head back
and when she opens her mouth,
squirt it in and make her swallow it.

Not easy but I am doing it!

Hopefully she will be well when we get
through with this batch of medicine.

Boy the money I could have spent on
Cross Stitch!!!

Say a prayer!

What a sweet face!

Reindeer Games ~
I got another one of these done for
my twin brother and his new wife.
They came down from Tulsa two weeks after
Christmas. I got it finished
even though I was having trouble
with my back tooth on the right side.
Went to the dentist and he had to do
a Root Canal!!!

Ugh ~ it turned out to be a nightmare.

Had to go back and have him
shave off a smidgen of tooth so
my top tooth would not touch it
while it healed.

Then . . . when he finally finished it up
the next day, Tuesday, he discovered
that some moisture had leaked out of my
tooth into the root cavity.
It caused pressure to build up and cause
the pain I was feeling over the weekend when
no self respecting dentist is around to help.

It was excruciating ~~ I'd rather have a baby!

I could not even stitch!

All that time on my hands
and I can't EVEN stitch!!!

What a huge bummer!!!

Of course, why would anything to do
with my mouth be easy?

He is a wonderful man, does not hurt you
and does a complete job. I now am the
proud owner of one finished root canal.

YEA! YEA! YEA!!!

Next I get my post cause my tooth is gone
and looks like a tooth aircraft carrier.
Then it is the crown.

Boy, the money I could have spent on cross stitch!

Let's talk!

It's Official . . . I really don't like the Pear Tree!
I had done all but one of the outside pears
and discovered it was off by one row . . .
at the Top first pear!

Thus . . . the evil frog!!!

I tore all of it out and then put it all back in.
I could not find this pattern
after taking my last pictures.
I found all the others so knew it
must be close by.
Voila ~ I found it and just wanted to get it
finished!
Not to be, however ~
It is still looking like this after two weeks.
I will get back to it after I finish the
cancer quilt square I am doing.
As usual thanks for looking your comments
help motivate me to finish my
stitching and I do appreciate them so much.

Take care and God Bless your stitching fingers.

TUSAL . . .

it's that time again,
or rather past that time.
I realized the moon was up and though it was
only an upside down sliver it was no
longer invisible.
OOPS!
I missed it again.

But here my TUSAL is again ~ getting
fuller as I had to pull out the shovel, part of the car
and all of the shadow stitches in the snow of
my Crabby All Year.
I have put them all back in and then some. I just
have the snow to do for January. I am looking
for my sparkly white thread to combine
with the white.
So . . .
it will sparkle!!!

The frog
has made his appearance in Jan. thank you
so much ~ FROG!
Do we need to start over in Jan? I don't
remember. I can do that! No problem!!!

As always thanks for looking I appreciate it!

May God Bless you all and your families too, and may you be blessed
with the best year Yet!!!

O Christmas Tree and Fa La La . . .

O' Christmas tree thy candles shine so brightly!

What a hoot this one has been to stitch!!!
I have really enjoyed it.
Why are some so much fun and others
are just a chore?

I got my second part in the mail today.
I will get the owl done
and wait for the third
part to get here.

Sew on the beads and Viola it will be done.
Just in time for next Christmas.
Maybe I can get it framed by next year.

This is my start on the Ornament SAL
and this is the first installment.
So . . . tomorrow I will work
on this one again.

It shouldn't take to long to finish.

Here's hoping!!!

Thanks for looking and leaving your
encouraging comments.
I appreciate them so much.

God Bless ~
