Random Thoughts. . .

are not hard to have now days.

I was visiting a blog the other day
and started reading about a stitched
piece called Random Thoughts.

I loved the way it looked.

Looked familiar and as I thought
about it randomly I realized
I had this pattern. I got it at our
annual White Elephant Sale.
So last night I started going through
my totes looking for this pattern.

Turns out it is a kit.

All the threads are here so as I
watched an old movie I put
the guide line in so I could
start it tonight.
After I got home from work I started
this very piece. It was so easy
to stitch cause you do it on
32ct. with one strand.
Yea!
what could be easier?
I think there is a slight mistake though.
It calls for the "B" to be stitched
with a brown thread but the
number is green. I will borrow a
brown from my Ink Circles kit
for Reindeer Games. It has about
8 different browns in the kit.
So . . . this is what I got done. I am
going to go and stitch a little bit
more before I go to bed.

Good Night All, Happy Stitching and God Bless
Your Stitching Fingers!!!

These are the days . . . we will remember forever . . .

At the retreat I attend every year at
Summer's Mill in Belton, Texas
we all had to line up
and stick our hand in
a pillowcase and pull
out a prize.

This was mine.

I am sure that this is the most profound
saying of that weekend.

It will be the days I remember all my life.

I had just lost Knee ~ Hi the Wednesday night
before I left Friday about 5 for Belton.
I was still in shock but I will remember
always trying not to cry that weekend.
Let's face it I didn't succeed but I
gave it my best.

I still after almost a month, cry
everyday or night cause I miss my
constant companion so much.

She was always there to meet me at the
back door when I came home at night.

She sat with me while I stitched
or went to sleep behind me on my
green recliner.

She slept with me at night and was there
every morning when I woke up.

I took care of her for the last month of her life
and saw her two different times
the last day before she died that night.

She climbed out of her box at the vets office,
in the cage,
to get to me so I could kiss her
and tell her I loved her.

I just hope she knew how much.

As always thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog ~

Birds . . .

One can always find peace with the birds.

I finished this one before
I went to the retreat
I always attend once a year in
Belton, Texas.

I have loved this pattern
from the time I saw it.
Couldn't wait to stitch it
and it was such fun!

I love these guys as I have always watched
birds where ever I am.

My oldest brother has land
and lots of birds that
share it with him, his wife,
two horses, three dogs, one cat
and 20 pair of hummingbirds every season.

He has two pairs of barn swallows that give
birth to at least three broods in
any given season
that roost on the front porch.

He has gotten books about them so
he can identify as many as possible
in this lifetime.
He has taken some awesome pictures.

Just today he told me he got a cam so he could
find out what is getting into the
bird seed.

It turns out it
is Raccoons!

Imagine!

Anywhoo, I did this piece and decided
I would add a button bird, he is the little
blue one
with the star on his belly,
completely forgetting I had
bought the worm that goes with
the pattern.

I had it all together
when I found the worm button.
Then I remembered I had bought
the worm button to go with the pattern.

So. . . I took it apart,
undid the whole piece, moved the
small bird, added the worm and
put it all back together again.

Yahoo!!! A finish!

God Bless you for stopping by to fly with my birds.

Bluebonnets, Honeysuckle . . .

Spring is defiantly here in Texas.
We had some beautiful bluebonnets because
we had the right amount of rain this year.

All along the
highways there was an abundance of gorgeous
flowers.
They just swayed in the breeze and
let their colors shine.

I love spring in Waco when the bluebonnets are
out everywhere and everyday there are new ones
coming up to replace the dying ones.

They lasted for a long time this year.

In my backyard I have a dog run,
no dogs, however.

The fence stretches for about 50 feet and all along
it are Honeysuckle bushes which hang
over the top.

When you step outside it smells like heaven.

All of the bushes are in bloom
now and it is so lovely!

This is how I greet my day when I get into my truck to go to
work each morning.

As usual thanks for stopping by to stroll through my flowers.
God Bless ~

Time for God . . .

Another Happy Dance!!!
I started this one when Knee ~ Hi
first got sick.
I thought that with Faith
that she would pull through.

God knows she gave all of her lives
to do just that.
After she died that night at the
hospital I was determined
to finish it.
I decided I would make it for my mom for Mother's Day.
Well, here it is!!!
Tomorrow I will order the frame and cut the mat.

It is actually stitched on a beautiful blue fabric.
I don't know what happened with my camera.

But here it is all finished.

I decided to not stitch
the squares around the first letters like the
pattern showed.

It didn't look right so I took
it out about 4 times.

I just kept stitching
letters in different colors and then took
them all out.
So, once again that frog was here at the house
reeking havoc on my stitching.

God Bless Your stitching fingers.

Chicks Rule

I finished this cute one
before I went to the retreat in Belton.
I go to the retreat every year in the spring.
I think this was my 8th year. It's hard to keep track when you just stitch and eat and eat and stitch.

We get to shop for the newest kits, patterns, gadgets
and fabric from the shops that come every year.
We had Stitches from the Heart and Cross Stitch Plus
both from San Antonio, Texas.

I found some great new stash I will share with you all later.

My sister was surprised by the little chicks
with their button beaks.
She took
it to her office to hang it there.

We had a great time, signed up for next year
and will need the get away
by the time it gets here.

We both have had a stressful 2010 so far,
so it was great to get away
for the weekend
and stitch, shop, eat and experience
great companionship
with people who share our love of stitching.

Until next time thanks for stopping by and looking.
I do appreciate it so much.

God Bless your stitching fingers.

Spring Birdies, Fa La La, Blackstone Fantasy Garden and Quaker Diamonds

This is one of the patterns I saw at the
retreat I attend every year in Belton.

One of my friends was doing it
the
colors are spectacular and the
thread comes in little balls.

It is
Valdani threads, which I don't
care much for but the three
that it calls for
works very nicely.

It is a big pattern
and I got this much done the first night.
Got lots to go.
It will keep me
busy for a long time.

I got this pattern in Copperas Cove at Nedlewerkes
when I took Knee ~ Hi to be looked at
by the Vet there.

It is called
Blackstone Fantasy Garden
by
Ink Circles.

Tracy designed it, as usual, and used Carries Threads
to stitch it up and it is so gorgeous.

Tracy is a wonderful designer.

When I first saw it I
said to myself that I would never do this piece.

When I saw Lois' at her shop
I fell in love with it and had to have it.

I had to take out the right side and bottom
about 6 times
and I thought I would never get it
correct.

That @#*& FROG!!!

I finally decided I would tackle it from
a different angle and it matched up.

Whew!!!

What a relief to finally get it done
correctly!

I got this finished last night.
I put in Fa La La and just have
to add one bead to the lamp.

Now I only have four more to go and one
of those is the Pear one.
UGH!!!
It's Ugly ~ need I say more?

I got this cute pattern in a magazine
at the retreat I go to every year in Belton Tx.
We have a trash and treasure table
and this magazine had my
name on it.

Aren't they the cutest?

They are hatching out of
their eggs and I love
the look on their little faces.

I got all of the eggs done tonight.

It takes Six Strand Sweets and
have I had a time tracking those
non colors down.

I finally found a place that
carries most of the colors.
What I couldn't find I am
using GAST and WDW and
Crescent Colors to fill
in the gap!

It will be
close enough on a galloping horse.

Thank you so very much for stopping by and leaving a comment or two.

Let's not be greedy!

God Bless your stitching fingers.

Good-bye my Sweet Knee ~ Hi

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must say good-bye
to Knee ~ Hi who
died last night at the hospital at the vet's office.

She did die peacefully I am told and for that
I am soooooooo grateful.

She lived a good life and I did go see her twice
yesterday and the last time I went
she climbed out of her box
and came to me so I could love
on her and give her lots of kisses.

Which I did.

In my heart I knew she would never
come home again.

After the autopsy, the vet said her heart,
intestines, lungs and liver looked good.
She had some infection and water type foam
around the outside of her lungs. The vets
think it came from the tumor in her nose.

The tube was in the right place
but she
just couldn't get over being nauseated.

She did not bleed or throw up but looked
like she just went to sleep.

Thank You God!

I will miss her dearly but I know she is
in heaven with
Gizmo and Fleabag.

They are sharping their claws, cause now
they have them, getting a wild hair
running around and
having a great time together.
Because they can and they are CATS!

Isn't that what cats do?

They are
all healthy and happy.
I know they were happy to see her.
After all they have been
by themselves much too long.

I fell asleep about 10 in my chair,
and I saw Knee-Hi without the feeding tube
and she was fat and happy.

Just like she used to be before she got sick.

It woke me up
and I wondered why I had seen her.

Now I know.

Rest in Peace my Sweet Knee ~ Hi
I love you and will miss you dearly!

My dear friends I thank you from the
bottom of my sad heart for your kind thoughts
and loving prayers for us both.
You will never know how much it means to me.

Take care, happy stitching and God Bless ~
Lenna
