Last Post of May . . . Glory and Meow!

I finished these two up last night.

I tried to post them but they did not
arrive from my phone until 3:55.
I sure am glad I didn't wait up.

I call this one Glory Bee ~
see that little bee? It glows in
the dark.
It is a San ManOriginals pattern.
I changed
the colors to a more muted
shade of Glory for the U. S. A.,
flag, stars and firecracker.
It is done on 32 ct. light ivory.

How does it look?

The other
colors were Aqua,
Pink and bright yellow.
Uck!
Not like the 4th at all!

This one is called Meow!

It is all ready to be sent off
Friday!
I used mostly over dyed threads,
in fact
all
over dyed threads to stitch
it up.
It is done on 32ct Lambswool.

It's so hard to believe it is almost June.

Already!!!

I have tried to post every
nite but I missed one by 2 minutes
and one by one stinking minute.

Total Bummer!

Tonight I worked on Cape Cod Girls that I
started long ago.
I finished the outline,
one eel and the three
curly queue's in the left hand corner.

I also gathered the threads together
for the Sampler Sisters of Thread I am
going to do with a couple of
ladies online.
Well, more than a couple,
I bet!

I found a piece of fabric I bought
for my Desert Mandala
but it is too small.

I think
it will work just perfect with
my Sister's Sampler's piece.

It is called Desert Sky and it is
over dyed with tan and blue.

I have found another one for my
Desert Mandala so it is OK to
use this piece for the Sampler.

Got to go and order my pattern
and the threads I need.

Have you ever noticed
that no matter how many threads
you have, you never, never
have all of the ones you need?

Funny how that works.

Thanks for looking ~
you all are the best friends one
could ask for in the whole
wide world.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Your sacrifice has not been given
in vain.

Hope everyone enjoys their holiday.

God Bless you all!

That Pear Tree . . .

is coming along finally.
I decided I would work on it and
get it done.

I just need to finish the last
pear on that pear tree!

Maybe I can make it look half decent.
It is too big and it is not very cute,
but we shall see.
Maybe a button
will help!

Couldn't hurt!!!

Thanks for taking a look at a
not too pretty ornament.
I have the snowman, sheep and
the house. I just need to
get the red house oh, and
get them stitched.

Tonight I finished the 4th of July
exchange. I just have to do the
name part on the other square.
I should have it ready to mail
by Friday, ahead of time.

God Bless your stitching fingers ~

Two Ladybugs . . .

While brushing my teeth this morning I saw
something orange red on the branch of
the lavender tree in the front yard.

I turned to look and it was
two lady bugs mating.

As soon as I finished brushing
my teeth I was going to go take a snap
of them.

But . . . alas they were both gone
when I looked up.

And I thought men were quick!!!

I love ladybugs, they are a pretty
reminder that God is out there watching
over us everyday.

I often see many ladybugs usually sitting
on different leaves just soaking
up the sun.

They are a favorite bug
to watch.

At night we have the lightening bugs flying
around looking for a mate.
I am from
El Paso, Texas and we didn't have
lightening bugs there.

The very first time I ever saw a lightening bug
was in Freeburg, Ill. when we went to
visit my Dad's parents.

My twin brother and little sister and I
caught them and put them in a jar until
morning.

When we got up it was just a jar full
of grub worms,
to my horror!

My two older brothers had substituted
the lightening bugs with grub worms.

It took me forever to figure out what they
had done.
I was talking it over with my sister,
that shared memory,
and she told me.

My brothers ~ what a couple of pips!

I never knew what they were going
to pull on me next.

I was the oldest sister and I was so
easy to fool and they did, often.

I worked on the 4th of July exchange so no
pictures and besides I fell asleep in my chair.

I just have a crick in my neck to show for it.

Take care all my dear friends.
Remember God loves you and if you don't think so
just look for a ladybug!

Happy stitching all!

Oleander, lavender and a WIP . . .

Behind the garage this is what grows on one tree.
It is almost obscured
by the over hanging branch

of the huge oak tree above it.
This yard is on a slope!

This is the tallest part of the tree.

This is a close up of the blossom.

It has dark around the outside and
light pink in the rest of the blossom.

That is the ratty old fence in the yard,
their yard.
Whenever we are gone those people
just come over and
work on that tired old fence.
They used a piece of wall
paneling the last time.
It is a beautiful shade of yellow and definitely
an eye sore.
So the flowers are a wonderful
diversion.
Part of the fence has just
fallen down into our yard.

I hate to tell them this but it
is going to have to be replaced
and none of it is on our property.
Smaller flowers up a little higher.
They are so delicate looking ~
too bad the flowers are poisonous.

Close up of the double blossom and a
bud waiting to bloom.

We have a huge lavender tree
in the back yard across from
the oleander tree.
These are some of the first blossoms
in bloom.
Soon the whole tree will be
covered in blossoms.
It is just breath taking!!!

Close up of that cluster of flowers.

This is a favorite of the honey bee
and the bumble bee.
I have also seen wasps getting nectar, too.

This is that same cluster but I
tried to get the blue sky in
the background.

It was very blue and
very HOT today!

Aren't they the most gorgeous?
I will
get some more pictures as
the tree bursts into blooms soon.

Last but not least here is my progress
on the book store. I have found a
light grey thread that I will be
doing the fence in on the
other side of the house.
Than I will pick the best one that
actually shows up.

I worked on the 4th of July piece tonight
and when I mail it and my partner gets
it I will post it.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart
for stopping by and checking out my blog!

God Bless your stitching fingers . . .

For The Birds . . .

This is the progress I made last night and tonight.
Finished h, bird, i, j, and k.
I put my initials on the left hand side (LV),
another bird and five numbers done.
Yahoo!!!

I always hope I will do more but
who am I kidding I didn't get
home from work till 8:25
didn't finish eating till
9:15 and I stopped
stitching at 10:30.

I have to be at work at 9:00
in the morning.
I just am going to go to bed and
get some sleep.

Thanks for looking.
God Bless ~

For The Birds . . .

This is a piece that has intrigued me since I first saw it.
I guess it is all those birds.

I have loved birds all my life and often
love to watch the marvelous things they accomplish.

When I come home from work I pass a place
that often gathers water when it rains.

There is a traffic light by this watering
hole.
Many kinds of birds will be
jumping and splashing
into the water and just be
bathing away without
a care in the world.
There could be grackles,
the black kind, or the
popular barn swallows that live
in the bridge which is up ahead.
Whatever kind they are, they are busy
getting clean.

This is the small amount of progress
I have made on it so far.

I discovered while I was going through some
of my WIP that I had kitted this pattern
twice with different threads.
So I took
the one set of DMC and traded them in
for more for a different pattern.

It's a very pretty color of blue fabric and
I am going to use a variegated thread
between the letters and the animals.

Think I will go stitch on it right now.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

God Bless your stitching fingers.

My Jade, Meow Square, and a Cat Needle magnet . . .

OK, lets start with my sweet Jade,
who is 19 years old today.
Happy Birthday Sweet Cat!
I took this
picture cause I love the difference
in the color of their noses.
The hair grows in a different direction
on their noses so it will show up.

Siamese cats are such a gorgeous
combination of colors,
all neutral,
except for their
aqua eyes.

She looks pretty good for an old lady.

This is a picture of the piece I am working on now.
It is "Meow" a square Flip It
and it is by Lizzie Kate.
She just happens to be one of my favorite
designers.

This is what it looks like now.
I just have the rest of the cat to put in.
Of course, I did have to do some
frogging,
what else do I have to do?

This is what is now stitched
and I have my cat needle minder, too.

Black goes in the empty space
of the cat.
I also have the block with the
meow and paw
print inside that square to stitch.

And last but not least, this is a
copper and gold needle minder
a dear friend, Bob, gave to me.
It was ~ I am so sorry
your beloved cat, Knee ~ Hi,
died so suddenly!

He is a dear sweet friend
and knows me very well.
I will cherish it always.
He has
given me many cat items
through the years.

You, my dear friends have come by
and visited my blog and left
me comments.
Thank You so much.
I will cherish them always, too.
God Bless your stitching fingers . . .

The second cutest biscornu around

Well, here we go with the second cutest ever biscornu around!

Barbara Ana is the designer and she
plans to do two more of these
darling biscornus!!!

I got the second one started!
After the frog visited, and

I got it restitched~~~
Here it is!

Isn't she the cutest little person?
I just love her face.

Well, I am talking to my daughter, in Cape Town
visa vee skype.

She looks great, for a pregnant person.
She has on one of her pregnant tops she wore
years ago.

It frightened her husband when he saw it.

He exclaimed ~~~ Yikes!!!

Then he says ~ I thought I wouldn't
ever have to see that again.

She got another phone call so I am
just sitting here typing.
Now she is taking the bread out.
She got
a bread maker and she loves it.
One time
she made some dough and took a picture of
it and
it looked like a skull.
She has
since refined her process.
I think she makes some every day.

Well, I had better go to bed since it is
already 2 in the morning.

Your kind comments are so appreciated and it
helps me love this stitching so much and
inspires me to do better.

God Bless your stitching fingers ~

A New Biscornu . . .

Found this beauty on the Creative Poppy
where you can get different
designers patterns
for just a small price
and a download.

I have started the first and this is
the second of four.
I love them they are so cute!

I must go to bed I can't keep my eyes open.
I had a very bad day at work, again.
Seems like my work isn't good enough to
please some people.

I am so tired of all the crap I really
don't know what I am going to do.

Life is too short to have to put up
with mean people every single day.

My boss doesn't get it and how
do you make someone who thinks
you should just hit your cat in the
head with a shovel when they are sick ~ ~ ~

Get it?

So the best thing I can do is just try
again tomorrow, but it isn't
looking good there either.

Thanks for looking!
I appreciate all my friends online.
God Bless ~

Meow . . .

This is actually a teal and this color combined.
So it's variegated and
it's from Carries Threads.

I have had this pattern for years I copied
it from somewhere long ago.

I am going to use it for one of my exchanges
when I find someone who loves cats.

I mean really "loves" cats.

I am going to stitch me one
and make another name tag out of it.

I have put The Book Store up for
a couple of days to get some exchange
stitching done.
Never fear I will be back again
soon with the books.

Well, I guess that is all I have tonight.

It rained here tonight and there
was one blast of lightening
and thunder
that literally raised me up out of bed.
It was quite frightening!!!

I am just glad it didn't strike the
huge tower across the street and
make it topple on our house.
It was that close.

Thanks for coming by and visiting my blog.
God Bless ~

A tree, a bird and two fences . . .

I put the tree and bird in last night
before I went to bed while
watching Superman II.

Tonight I stitched the leaves,
flowers and one of the fences.
One is white and the other is grey.

Which looks best?

Which one can
you see the easiest?

It's coming along rather quickly every
night. I am pleased with
my progress!
Tomorrow I must work on one of
my exchanges.
I have got to look up
when they should be mailed.

I have a regular one, any theme
and one is the 4th of July.

So far I have the any theme
one more than half done and I can
knock out the 4th of July
pretty quickly.

Thanks for being faithful to my attempt to post
every night. I appreciate your comments.

God Bless your stitching fingers ~
